Welcome to the Chicago Fitness Challenge website.

This new and exciting Summer Camp is sponsored by the Chicago Chinatown Chamber of Commerce. The Chicago Fitness Challenge offers fitness education and training in a fun, structured environment to neighborhood youth during the summer. We are seeking Chicago Public School applicants from the 7th through the 12th grades.

ABOUT THIS CHALLENGE

The Chicago Fitness Challenge program promotes and teaches healthy lifestyles to fitness-challenged youth. This innovative program provides each participant the necessary tools to learn, in creative ways, how to be active and fit in the City of Chicago. Participants will learn to use their own body weight to work in a variety of isometric exercises. The philosophy is to use resources which are already available to help keep us fit and healthy. We will also teach participants how to stretch properly for injury prevention. Fitness regimes may include obstacle course training, basic sports activities, mechanical body improvements and a variety of fitness regimes. Camp activities may include basketball, beach volleyball, bicycling, canoeing, football, running, soccer, swimming, wall climbing, weight training and yoga. Activities will be conducted outdoors to maximize our enjoyment of Chicago’s beautiful summer weather.

We hope that by helping our participants improve their physical well-being, we may also help them improve their emotional and mental well-being. The Chicago Fitness Challenge hopes to help our participants grow to become more self-aware, confident, balanced and emotionally grounded.

WHERE WILL IT BE HELD?
